Mr. Modi criticised the I.N.D.I.A. alliance for its "disrespecting" of Hinduism and charged that the DMK government was trying to embezzle the money the Centre was giving to T.N.
On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the people of Tamil Nadu to give his BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) a resounding mandate in the Lok Sabha elections, pledging to take tough measures against corruption over the following five years.

Speaking at a public gathering in Salem, Mr. Modi claimed that the Congress party and the DMK were two sides of the same coin because they both supported family power and corruption. The growth of 5G technology has only occurred after sending the Congress home. However, he added, "the fifth generation [of the DMK] is rising to power in Tamil Nadu."

Like he did earlier this month, Mr. Modi asserted that while the Centre was giving Tamil Nadu funds for development projects, the DMK administration was attempting to embezzle these funds. "Tamil Nadu's development is significant. Strict measures will be implemented to combat corruption. The DMK can't sleep because of the support the NDA coalition partners are getting in the State.

The DMK has lost its sleep over the support the NDA alliance partners are enjoying in the State, he said.
