Sanam Teri Kasam
The 2016 romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam, featuring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, is all set returning to Indian cinema on 7 February 2025. As divisive as it was initially at the box office, the film caters to a life-loving core fanbase, and its rerelease is making a splash.
Almost a decade after its release, Sanam Teri Kasam has returned to the big screen, but in a rather grand way that will set the nostalgia wheels in motion for the movie's fans. While the movie didn't make much of an impression in its original release, it later developed an almost cult following, with audiences embracing its heartbreaking love story and spirit-lifting soundtrack.
The excitement over its comeback is palpable, with the movie soaring to a staggering advance booking success, raking in a whopping 20000 tickets on the first 12 hours alone across all major national cinema chains. Such strong demand is a testament to the film's lasting popularity and the willingness of fans to experience the emotional journey all over again in theatres.
Sanam Teri Kasam continues to get overwhelming word of mouth considering the fact that the film originally had little support from a lacklustre marketing campaign and mixed reviews. According to industry experts, the film is now expected to collect in the range of Rs 2 crore on its first-day of collection, a considerable jump compared to what the film would've made first day Rs 1 crore.
Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the film will compete with two new Bollywood releases — Badass Ravi Kumar and Loveyapa—and the re-release of Christopher Nolan’s 2014 sci-fi masterpiece Interstellar in Hindi-speaking territories.
And with such a powerful resurgence in popularity, Sanam Teri Kasam is all set to create a much bigger impact this time around, proving that some love stories never go out of style—they only become more intoxicating as time drips on.
