Congress MP Rahul Gandhi celebrated his 54th birthday on Wednesday, receiving warm wishes from his colleague in the INDIA bloc, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. Yadav praised Gandhi for his “remarkable vision and leadership,” expressing his best wishes for Gandhi’s future.

Tejashwi Yadav's birthday message read, "Happiest returns of the day, brother Rahul Gandhi! You have exhibited remarkable vision and leadership. Wishing you a long, happy, healthy, and successful life ahead!" In a friendly exchange, Rahul Gandhi thanked Yadav and suggested Katla or Rohu, both varieties of fish, for their next lunch together.

Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav have previously bonded over food. During a past visit, Gandhi enjoyed "Champaran mutton" at a meal hosted by Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family in Delhi. Food and politics intertwined again recently when BJP criticised Tejashwi Yadav for consuming fish during Navratri in April. In response, Gandhi and Yadav, along with other Opposition leaders, shared a meal, highlighting their camaraderie.

In a video shared by Congress, Tejashwi Yadav joked about the situation, saying, "Hey (Mukesh) Sahani ji, your fish bones stuck in Modi ji's throat?" He also mentioned, “Rahul Gandhi has now had mutton twice,” to which Gandhi replied, “Now it's my and my sister’s (Priyanka Gandhi Vadra) turn to invite them (for a meal).”

The light-hearted banter and mutual respect between Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav reflect their close bond and shared vision within the INDIA bloc.
