The Targaryens are back, so saddle your dragon and send a raven.

On Sunday, June 16, "House of the Dragon," an HBO fantasy television series offshoot, will premiere its second season. For the white-haired Targaryens, it's all out battle as Westeros is engaged in the Dance of Dragons, a violent civil war straight out of George R. R. Martin's book "Fire and Blood," which serves as the basis for "House of the Dragon."

Following the Season 1 conclusion, rival factions in Westeros emerged: the Greens and the Blacks. Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) was promised the Iron Throne by her father, King Viserys (Paddy Considine). However, her younger half-brother, Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney), and his mother, Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), who was also Rhaenyra's childhood best friend, usurped her succession. Now, a violent, dragon-filled conflict has broken out between the greens commanded by Aegon and Alicent and the black faction of Rhaenyra.

For the greens, King Aegon governs King's Landing and all of Westeros. His father Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans), mother Alicent, brother Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell), chief of the Kingsguard Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel), manipulator Larys Strong (Matthew Needham), and their dragons Vhagar and Sunfyre all provide advice to him.
